Artist’s Corner: These Chains

How the These Chains cover imagery and typography was chosen.

These Chains. My first NanoWriMo book I ever published. The cover has seen many incarnations throughout the last few years. This is the current incarnation, the book isn’t updated on our platforms as of this post (7.12.2021), if it has been updated, then this is what you will see on our platforms.

This book is a fictional biography about childhood abuse and addictions. I wanted a cover that would depict the lost feelings that a child might experience as a assault survivor. Something that would not devalue the concept but drive home the seriousness of the social issues of child abuse and addictions. Something with simple typography and imagery that would let the story stand on its own and speak for itself.
