Synopsis

The Bone Jar. Is a dark and twisted romp through the minds of a pair of killers as they evolve. The story follows the main characters, Troy and Ivy as they grow up and lays the ground work for how they become ruthless, cold-blooded killers.

The book questions what could be if someone is raised with tramua and goes untreated. Does evil beget evil? Is there anything good inside a killer? The Bone Jar takes us inside the mind of the lost, those plauged by monsters and those seeking redemtion.

Its a wild and chaotic ride with deep and piercing content. The book is not for the faint of heart, it contains graphic descriptions of intimacy and murder. The story includes an overview of serial killers. FBI agent Desbrates follows our killers through their journey and discovers hidden connections that make him question everything.

How The Bone Jar cover was made

By Cover Artist: Sheal Mullin-Berube

Another collaboration book. This one co-written with Larisa. It’s now turned into a series with another title that refers back to an old case of Leo’s. The second title is aptly named The Asylum Case.

I wanted this cover to be slightly sinister and foreboding. A hint of the chaos and craziness that’s within. Simple typography to keep the focus on the colors and the imagery. It’s also branded to the series on the spine with the ace skull. The cover (if you peaked) has the same branding logo as well.

For the second cover, I’ve left hints in the back cover about who our killer is and their modus operandi as well as references to the first book here.

In 2022 we had an opportunity to collaborate with Jon to make ‘profiles’ for our killer ladies Ivy and Jane who had an opportunity to shine in The Bone Jar and Proceed With Caution.

Character POV: The Bone Jar is written from the perspective of two main characters Troy and Ivy. The story is told through what seems like a dream being relayed through Ivy, but as the novel progresses, things are not what they seem.

The Novel

The book dives into the human mind and drives the narrative of the persistent struggle of nature vs nurture. The novel includes extensive nods to famous serial killers including a full on expose of Jack The Ripper as Agent Desbrats hunts for Troy and Ivy.

Easter Egg

There may be a hidden clue on a familiar relationship between the three characters in our story, if you can find it.
