Faces & Voices of Recovery-An Overview: When we were looking for organizations that supported addiction and recovery, we found more than one that was deserving of support. Any organization that helps someone recover is worth looking into. Whatever method you believe would work for you, needs to be taken under advisement by only one person, the addict. If the program is not suitable for them, the chances of a good outcome are slim to none. Faces & Voices of Recovery shows the stories of those that have fought to recover, reducing the stigma of addiction. This was one of the core reasons we chose them. Their tireless advocacy of reducing stigma, fighting for privacy, changes to law and grassroots support, all lent a key feature of our thought process. Looking at a holistic approach to dealing with addiction, its sources, its tendrils, its stigma are all very important to a vital recovery.
Website Excerpt: “At Faces & Voices of Recovery, we educate about the issues of discrimination and prejudice against people in need of treatment and people in recovery, which are barriers that require a clear, concise, and coordinated advocacy approach. We offer educational webinars and messaging training and tools that offer advanced guidance on the federal legislative process and how to work with legislators and staff to advance policy priorities, with an emphasis on the differences between authorization and appropriations.”
