CHAPTER ONE: THE BASICS-the chapter goes into each aspect of the overall needs of a cat, including how to make a perfect environment for your new arrival. Knowing what it takes to care for any species is very important prior to adoption, often pet stores mean well, but don't always know the best information to provide. Check other sources like shelters, vets, and others for information on pet care, the expectation of costs for care over time, and other questions so that the commitment can be for a lifetime.
CHAPTER TWO: TAMING THE FERAL CAT-the chapter deals with how to convert a wild cat to a domestic cat, sometimes feral cats cannot be homed, and have to have a different path in terms of adoption. There are services now to help families who want to adopt a more wild feline, checking with your local shelter is a good place to start. If you decide that feral is for you, Melodi walks through a slow and steady approach.
CHAPTER THREE: QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS-Melodi walks through some general questions that she has had to field in relation to housing and caring for cats, Melodi's history as a cat rescuer bursts onto the page with clear responses that will provide much-needed insight to new owners of cats. This chapter also discusses the curious tale of a possible legend cat.
CHAPTER FOUR: HOME REMEDIES FOR CATS-contains all kinds of home remedies and dosages for domestic cats, it is advisable with all remedies you consult your own vet, but these dosages are provided for reference and are from an accredited herbalist.
Cats are often considered to be aloof and independent, but studies have shown they increase happiness, memory retention, and increase senses of calm.
