Inside The Cover
There are so many resources out there for those who need help that I felt the need to provide some of my readers who may be experiencing painful situations that they feel they have no control over. Let me tell you that you do have control. In fact, you are the only person in your situation with the ultimate control. For those of you dealing with violence, RAINN has both an online and telephone service that is confidential and private. You can contact them at any time if you need help, and anonymously too.
To find more information about RAINN and its services visit them at http://www.rainn.org/gethelp/ or call the international hotline at 1.800.656.HOPE. Don’t ever hesitate to change your life, especially for the better. You must be wondering why I chose a male main character. Well, simply because there is not enough awareness of abuse and violence against young boys and men. We are saturated by the news media outlets about female abuse issues but ever so rarely hear about those boys and men out there who have also suffered at the hands of another. It is something that is left in the dark and never spoken of because society deems that men just simply do not experience these same situations as women do. I am not negating, nor am I trivializing the fact that girls and women do not have a profound experience with these same issues I am merely bringing awareness forward that both women and men can and do experience this most unfortunate set of circumstances equally.
Addiction is something many people face in their lives. Whether it's an addiction to alcohol, drugs, gambling or other things. It is not easy to overcome but it is a choice to overcome it. If you would like to choose a new path and heal from your addictions call the hotline, there are people waiting to help you take the first steps to recovery today!
We often talk about female abuse victims and the repercussions of that abuse. Rarely do we ever talk about male abuse victims and the repercussions it has for a male victim. These Chains takes a hard look at what it might be like for a boy/man to endure and live through and process abuse. If you are a male OR female victim of abuse we recommend these sites for you to make contact with people waiting to help you recover and heal:
